Nov. 17 at 8:42 am a two-car accident occurred on State Route 81 (Ada Rd.) near Napoleon Rd. resulting in the death of Carla Dysert, 56, of Ada. The other party involved was James R. Britt, 30, also of Ada who was driving eastbound on SR 81 when he lost control of his vehicle.

According to Jim Everett of the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation showed that Britt lost control of his vehicle, sliding sideways across the centerline and into the path of Dysert’s 2004 Buick SUV that was headed westbound. Upon the arrival of police, Dysert was pronounced dead at the scene. Britt was transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima to be treated for injuries.

The Sheriff’s report also stated that there was a third car involved driven by Kayla Dodds, of Lima. The driver of the Mercury was headed westbound behind the Buick, swerved to avoid the crash and was struck by the Mazda. Upon Dodd’s recollection, “I was able to swerve since no other cars were coming, but the debris from the other two were what messed me up.”

The accident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed as of Monday, according to Everett.
