Last semester was a wild ride for Delight Ministries, the latest Christian organization established on campus. From selling out of their workbooks on multiple occasions to gaining over 160 GroupMe members over the summer, Delight received an unexpectedly large amount of interest last fall that shocked their leadership team.
The trendy merchandise and aesthetic workbooks caught the attention of many women across campus who were eager to dive deeper into their Christian faith. Now, only one question remains: has Delight Ministries lived up to the hype?
Caroline Hensley, one of the organization’s founding members, believes that last semester marked the beginning of an amazing journey for women seeking a deeper relationship with Christ. While attendance “ebbed and flowed” since the initial 90 women that joined in September, they now have a consistent group of women who are involved.
“Last semester at Delight went better than we could have ever imagined!” Hensley wrote. “There was so much excitement on campus surrounding it and, most important of all, so many girls came to know Jesus through this ministry.”

Jaylynn Brownlee is one college student who has been deeply impacted by the community Delight has formed. She was actively searching for a way to strengthen her Christian faith and was thrilled to discover Delight on social media last summer. After learning more about the group and attending the first few meetings, Brownlee instantly felt a connection with the members.
“Delight has really helped me take steps into being independent with my faith while being at school,” Brownlee wrote. “A lot of my faith life has always had my family as a part of it so it really gave me the push to make it my own. It has truly helped me get more into the Word and see the Lord in my everyday life so much more.”
Delight has continued to grow and evolve since its founding, and recently added three members to their leadership team. Brownlee is among the new leaders on the team, bringing in a wave of fresh ideas and perspectives for their social media accounts.
“When I got on campus and with the girls, I truly felt it was where God was calling me to be.”

The expanding Delight leadership team has persevered through the challenges of founding a new organization on campus to spread Christian faith amongst their peers. With one semester under their belt, Delight has opportunities to grow and adapt to Ohio Northern’s unique culture in the years to come.
“This community is so special,” Hensley remarked, “and I cannot wait to bond with more girls, loving the Lord alongside them.”
Students who wish to join Delight Ministries on their faith-filled journey can attend their weekly meetings on Thursdays at 7:30pm in the Chapel.
