On April 26, 2024, Northern Review held its second annual debate between Ohio Northern University’s chapters of College Republicans and College Democrats. In addition to a slight increase in production quality, the format of the event changed compared to last year. Instead of a rigid series of arguments and counterarguments, each topic was given a five minute opening statement from each side, followed by twenty minutes of open discussion. This year, three questions were considered:

  • How should firearms be regulated in the United States?
  • Should race be considered in college admissions?
  • Should college athletic teams be divided by biological sex or by gender identity?

College Republicans was represented by AJ Szigeti, Jacob Ashley, and Wesley Crockett. College Democrats was represented by Alexa Clampitt, Alison Ringhiser, and Michael Kirchner.
