The oddly warm weather on campus these past few weeks has encouraged Ohio Northern University’s Student Planning Committee (SPC) to host the first event outside this spring semester. Tuesday under the iconic, “Tent on the Tundra”, SPC hosted a Tie Dye Night from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.
This wonderful event offered students a free white tee-shirt and mask to tie dye. They also gave them the opportunity to get that tee-shirt screen printed with an ONU logo. The sign-up sheet for this event quickly filled up with almost 300 students ready to participate.
If you found yourself out on the tundra, sign-ups were made easy with a clearly marked booth. This was where students could check-in and receive the t-shirt! After they had their shirt, students were directed to the next booth to pick a screen print that the volunteers helped them put on. With the brand new ONU logoed shirt, participants moved to the second to last step where an SPC member dipped it into a bucket of cold water. From there students could pick any of the five tie dye booths they had and go crazy tie dying their own personal t-shirt.

This was an event not to be missed, there was a huge turn out the whole time it was going on. The tent on the tundra was filled with students, there was music playing, and students dancing. It was really heart-warming and gave an optimistic outlook towards the rest of the semester.
Now that the weather is permitting it, everyone is excited to be outside. Spring is officially underway and this was a fantastic event to kick off the beautiful weather.
