As part of the campus’ preparation for Halloween, Ohio Northern University will be hosting their annual Res Life Trick-or-Treat featuring its Haunted Halls on Tuesday, Oct. 20 starting at 5 p.m.

Res Life organizes its annual Trick-or-Treat so that the children of Ada, Lima, and other surrounding communities can come together and learn about ONU’s Res Life and its halls. It also allows the kids to have an extra chance to interact with Ohio Northern and have a good time doing so.

In the past, the Res Life’s Trick-or-Treat has been very successful and it is one of the most popular events they host. In the past, there have been an estimated 150 parents and children who participated.

Not only do the kids enjoy this scary event, but also the ONU students who volunteer to be a part of it. Many new freshmen said they are excited to pass out candy to all the Trick-or-Treaters.

Brianna Hammonds, the RA on Founders’ first floor, did not participate in last year’s event, but can’t wait to be involved this year.

“I am very excited to be able to decorate the hall and see all the kids in their costumes and hand out candy,” said Brianna.

She also mentioned how it’s nice that Res Life hosts this event because it allows kids to get an early start on Halloween and the delicious candy.

Trick-or-Treat will begin at 5 p.m starting in Maglot Hall, followed by both Founders, which includes a SpongeBob theme in the girls hallway, and Park Hall.

If you are interested in passing out sweets to the kids, White Bear Inn will be selling big bags of candy for $14.99.
