Dear Readers,

First, thank you so much for taking the time to pick up the Northern Review. A lot of hard work goes into the production of our campus paper and, if you’re reading, it’s paying off!

When I was named Editor-in-Chief last year, I was extremely worried. How would I, an education major, be able to run a college newspaper? Luckily for me, a lot of people have continued to remind me of the faith they have in me.

I set out this year with plans to have a paper that had content that was important for our campus. For the most part, I believe we’ve done just that. My worries faded away as the year progressed, and I’m proud of the papers that have been published with my name in the EIC column.

This, of course, would not have been possible without the staff I worked with every week. I was blessed to have a staff that worked together well. Our office ahs been a place for both work and laughter, and I loved it. Joey, Sam, Caroline, Andrew, Dan, Elizabeth, and Lauren: you guys did a great job! We made it! Thanks for all the faith you showed in me this year.

To you, our readers: Thank you for being so dedicated to the Review! We would not exist without you, and we appreciate your continued support and critiques as we transition to an online format.

Next year, the Northern Review will be distributed primarily through an online format. Details will come next year, but please continue to show the new staff some support during this time of transition.

To the new staff: I have so much faith in you and genuinely feel that you are a very strong group of editors. Putting together the paper will seem like a huge challenge at first, but I assure you that it is worth the effort. It will be second nature before you know it. Joey and Sam – enjoy next year, because it will fly by! You two are great leaders, and I know that the paper will flourish under your leadership.

To our advisor, Dr. O’Connell (O’C): Thank you. Thank you for the support you have given not only this staff, but to all of us over the sixteen years you’ve been on campus. You have been there to aid new editors, to support worried EICs, to help make headlines a million times better than they were before, to send us in the right direction for stories and technical problems, and so much more. You’re really leaving some big shoes to fill, and we’ll miss you!

With that, I leave you in the very competent hands of our new staff, led by Co-Editors-in-Chief, Joey Ferraro and Samantha Ventrella. Good luck everyone, and thanks for a wonderful year!
